CT Tech Trainee

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in preparing patients for CT exams and elucidates procedures in a courteous and professional manner.
• Learns appropriate positioning techniques, immobilization methods, and safety protocols for CT imaging under supervision.
• Observes and supports technologists in administering contrast media (after obtaining venipuncture certification and under direct supervision, if applicable).
• Supports technologists with image processing, PACS transmission, and quality assurance checks.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
• Engages in educational activities, in-service training, and on-the-job instruction to attain proficiency in CT imaging.
• Safeguards exam rooms by ensuring they are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient procedures.
• Provides professional and compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
• Completes administrative tasks, paperwork, and data entry as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned while learning the full scope of the CT Technologist role.

Requirements

• Current ARRT(R) and State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (CRT).
• ARRT (CT) certification and/or applicable State CT license within the timeframe required by RadNet policy or state regulations.
• Completion of an accredited Radiology program.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Venipuncture certification preferred; if not held, must obtain within required timeframe.
• Ability to learn and apply specialized CT equipment operation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to patients, physicians, and team members.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to professional development.
