Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in preparing patients for CT exams and elucidates procedures in a courteous and professional manner.
- Learns appropriate positioning techniques, immobilization methods, and safety protocols for CT imaging under supervision.
- Observes and supports technologists in administering contrast media (after obtaining venipuncture certification and under direct supervision, if applicable).
- Supports technologists with image processing, PACS transmission, and quality assurance checks.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
- Engages in educational activities, in-service training, and on-the-job instruction to attain proficiency in CT imaging.
- Safeguards exam rooms by ensuring they are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient procedures.
- Provides professional and compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
- Completes administrative tasks, paperwork, and data entry as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned while learning the full scope of the CT Technologist role.
Requirements
- Current ARRT(R) and State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (CRT).
- ARRT (CT) certification and/or applicable State CT license within the timeframe required by RadNet policy or state regulations.
- Completion of an accredited Radiology program.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Venipuncture certification preferred; if not held, must obtain within required timeframe.
- Ability to learn and apply specialized CT equipment operation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to patients, physicians, and team members.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to professional development.
