About the role
Independently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media.
Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture.
Captures patient flow and coordinates the activities of the CT scanner.
Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition.
May perform procedures in other imaging modalities or at other facilities based on departmental needs.
May have on call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs CT procedures independently.
- Administers contrast media as per protocol.
- Operates CT equipment according to established procedures.
- Maintains radiation safety protocols.
- Coordinates patient flow and scanner activities.
- Ensures equipment is functioning properly.
- Performs procedures in other imaging modalities or at other facilities as needed.
- Handles on-call responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- CPR Certification
- ARRT RT (R) registry
- ODH licensure
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Allied Health, with a focus on Radiologic Technology.
Skills
- Cross-sectional anatomy knowledge.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Proficiency in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage.
- Advanced CT computer applications.
