CT Tech PRN

About the Role

Performs multiple imaging procedures in accordance with established parameters. Provides continuity of patient care and assists Radiologists with procedures. Adheres to performance expectations and performs all defined services in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of MercyOne.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient, room, and equipment for procedure.
• Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.
• Provides patient care in accordance with department policy.
• Takes radiographic exposures appropriate to procedure.
• Performs multiple imaging procedures and assists Radiologist with special procedures.
• Performs trauma scanning.
• Assists with CT Guided Biopsies.
• Performs 3D and angiographic scanning procedures.
• Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.
• Adheres to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures.
• Provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients, including:
  • Birth-28 days: Neonate
  • 1-18 Months: Infant
  • 18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler
  • 3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged
  • 6-12 Yrs: School-Aged
  • 12-18 Yrs: Adolescents
  • 18-65 Yrs: Adults
  • 65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography.
• ARRT or NMTCB registered.
• Must have valid IDPH permit to practice.
• Mandatory Reporter certification.
• BLS certification.
• ARRT or NMTCB advanced CT board certification required within 24 months of CT hire.
• High language, intermediate math, and high reasoning ability.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Ability to work independently with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems.
