Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, courteous services to patients while performing high-quality CT exams.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Absesses data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements and provide the care needed.
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays as needed.
  • Complies with the job description of the Diagnostic X-ray Technologist II as necessary.
  • Ensures that patient information is acceptable (Order for Exam and Lab work).
  • Properly positions patient and makes patient comfortable.
  • Images the patient according to approved Cat Scan protocols 100% of the time.
  • Reviews images and sends to PACS for interpretation.
  • Closes exam in EPIC/PACS.
  • Prepares, identifies and/or administers medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner when applicable.
  • Transports patients to and from the room when required as noted by leadership.
  • Provides a safe environment to our patients.
  • Explains all procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns regarding the test 100% of the time.
  • Properly screens the patient (reviews medical history).
  • Performs clinical pause before starting each exam.
  • Ensures that the room is clean and ready for patients both before and after an exam 100% of the time.
  • Maintains adequate level of inventory in all rooms within diagnostic Radiology.
  • Restocks supplies within rooms as observed by leadership.
  • Cleans and organizes CT Scan room after patient use as observed by leadership.
  • Reviews and completes the daily checklists for safe patient care and regulatory readiness.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Maintains competence through continuing education 100% of the time as noted by leadership.
  • Maintains appropriate continuing education credits to keep up licensure 100% of the time as recorded by leadership.
  • Attends the necessary meetings to keep up with changes within the department.
  • Attends monthly department meetings 90-95% of the time as recorded in the meeting minutes.
  • Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed.
  • Performs other duties as requested and observed by leadership.

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school, required.
  • New graduates accepted.
  • NYS license (NYS Temporary Permit for new graduates), required.
  • ARRT Registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required.
  • NYS Registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire, required.
  • ARRT CT certification within 2 years of hire/ within job role (career ladder promotion), preferred.
  • BLS certification, required.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs, of force constantly to move objects.
  • Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking.
  • Constant typing/ clerical/ dexterity, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use.
  • Hazards: Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, radiation/radiant energy.

Pay Range

USD $40.58/Hr. - USD $60.87/Hr.
