About the role

Under the administrative direction of the Administrative Director-Radiology, Lead C.T. Technologist, or authorized designee and with clinical supervision from the assigned Radiologist, performs a variety of specialized technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative, to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated area and procedures as required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of specialized technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative, to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Affixes patient identification tags and records pertinent data on patient history, allergies, medications, and procedure performed.
  • Assists in the preparation of patients for examination, including positioning, immobilization, and draping.
  • Operates equipment to acquire diagnostic images, ensuring proper exposure parameters are met.
  • Collaborates with the Radiologist to interpret and report findings, providing detailed documentation of the imaging process and results.
  • Maintains a sterile environment and follows infection control protocols during procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and maintains accurate records of patient encounters and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited C.T. Technologist program.
  • Current certification as a Registered CT Technologist (R.T. [CT]) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Experience in a hospital or medical imaging setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
  • Proficiency in using medical imaging equipment and software.
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with patients and colleagues.
