Position Goal

This position is responsible for the performance of CT examinations, which include all aspects of chart review, patient care, technical performance, processing, and patient screening and maintain data logs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Performs all CT procedures and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the operation of all equipment in the CT area.
    • Safely operates the scanner and injector in order to produce diagnostic quality CT images.
    • Maintains competency in the CT area.
    • Applies working knowledge pertaining to CT anatomy and patho-physiology to produce high standard of quality images while under the direction of the Radiologist.
    • Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
    • Participates in staff/student orientation and training.
    • Performs venipuncture for appropriate exams.
    • Participates in any department area.
    • Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of operating CT scan units and processing equipment.
    • Demonstrate the ability to do minor trouble shooting.
    • Perform all scanning functions in a quick and organized manner in order to keep within the time frame that patients are scheduled.
    • Recognize when to use protocols and when to alter protocols based on the condition of the patient.
    • Perform skillful administration of I.V. contrast and demonstrate knowledgeable use of pressure injectors.
    • Demonstrate an adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
    • Meet the minimal knowledge required to operate the Advantage Windows workstation.
    • Operate and load the laser processor and perform minor trouble shooting.
    • Review patient record for accurate history, medical necessity and verification of order and document information 100% of the time.
    • Complete all computer verification functions 100% of the time prior to end of shift.
    • Aid the radiologist in performing biopsies and have all supplies and equipment readily available prior to procedure.
    • Maintain adequate stock of supplies at all times.
    • May be delegated to perform functions according to department policies as In-charge or Lead Technologist if shift has 3 or more staff members based on seniority in absence of Supervisor of Imaging Services and Director of Imaging Services.
  • Participate in “on-call” rotation as determined by department needs including holidays, weekday, and weekends.
    • Response time to answer call back is 30 minutes when called: arrival time 45 min. to hospital.
  • Experience: CT experience preferred. 1 yr. diagnostic radiology.

Required Special Qualifications

  • Licensed Radiology Technologist (ARRT) certificate
  • BLS required
  • PREFERRED: CT registry (ARRT)
  • 5 years of CT experience

Education

Radiology Technologist with preference for registry in CT Technology.

Experience

CT experience preferred.

Pay

Sign on bonus of $10,000.00 is eligible for this position.

Schedule

Shift: 12:30pm-11:00pm
