Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the CT Technologist prepares for and operates a CT Scanner following specific physician orders. Produces detailed computer-generated scans of patients for diagnostic and interventional information. Assists patients onto scanner, verifies patient identification prior to scan, selects patient from worklist, ensures exam is archived on the PACS and completed properly in the RIS. Maintains facilities in proper order. Must keep abreast of all new CT procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT Scanner following specific physician orders.
  • Produce detailed computer-generated scans of patients for diagnostic and interventional information.
  • Assist patients onto scanner and verify patient identification prior to scan.
  • Select patient from worklist and ensure exam is archived on the PACS and completed properly in the RIS.
  • Maintain facilities in proper order.
  • Keep abreast of all new CT procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion from an accredited Radiology Technology program and registered by the ARRT in CT.
  • Existing employees must obtain advanced CT Certification within one (1) year of employment.
  • One year of practical experience preferred as a staff radiologic technologist.
  • CT experience preferred.

Skills

  • Registered in Radiologic Technology with advanced CT certification from the ARRT and a current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP.
  • Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Physical dexterity to operate sensitive equipment and ability to perform a variety of CT exams on patients.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and vascular systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (oral, written, presentation) skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately with attention to detail, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Ability to function independently and competently in stressful situations.
  • Respond positively to changes in the work environment and work well in various settings, adjusting according to patient needs.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system, and with patients, family members, co-workers, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Patient Care Services staff members, etc.).
  • Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job-related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively problem-solve.

Schedule

  • Every other Saturday overnight, 11p-7a.
  • 1 holiday per year.

Pay

Pay Range: $47.80 - $59.75 per hour.
