The CT Tech provides quality care to patients of all age groups, from newborn to elderly, according to department standards. Responsibilities  Produces high quality diagnostic radiographs, by selecting and operating appropriate radiographic equipment and C.T. images, utilizing a C. T. scanner and computed tomography techniques  Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification and procedure is recorded. Assists practitioner with fluoroscopy and the advanced scope of practice in C.T. by being registered with the ARRT.  Practices aseptic techniques as necessary. Understand methods of venipuncture and other sterile techniques, in agreement with state statues and/or where institutional policy permits, prepares, identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.  Assumes responsibility for assigned areas, quality control of equipment and reports equipment malfunctions, use of computing, digital imaging processing concepts and instrumentation to 3D concepts. Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of Imaging Technology MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year with competency in components of computerized tomography. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of a current Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in Radiology and C.T. documentation of approved training or possession of current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license. Must have ARRT &CT Registry within one year post graduation from accredited school. REQUIRED COURSES/ COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): BLS–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
