CT Tech

Responsibilities

• Operates the computed tomography equipment and performs a variety of technical procedures.
• Positions and transfers patients in a timely manner, ensuring patient safety and physical requirements are met.
• Develops film by automatic processing using a knowledge of the equipment.
• Utilizes surgical techniques as needed in performing sterile procedures.
• Aids in equipment calibration and quality control, performing each test promptly.
• Administers radiographic contrast according to the physician's request and departmental policies.
• Evaluates when consultation with the radiologist is necessary regarding contrast media administration.
• Completes initial IV setup preparation for IV insertion for CT scans, including IV prep, insertion, and positioning for proper aseptic technique.

Qualifications

• ARRT-CT (ARRT-COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY) license within 12 months of hire.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification issued by the same organizations, within 30 days of hire.
