Responsibilities
- Operates the computed tomography equipment and performs a variety of technical procedures.
- Positions and transfers patients in a timely manner, ensuring patient safety and physical requirements are met.
- Develops film by automatic processing using a knowledge of the equipment.
- Utilizes surgical techniques as needed in performing sterile procedures.
- Aids in equipment calibration and quality control, performing each test promptly.
- Administers radiographic contrast according to the physician's request and departmental policies.
- Evaluates when consultation with the radiologist is necessary regarding contrast media administration.
- Completes initial IV setup preparation for IV insertion for CT scans, including IV prep, insertion, and positioning for proper aseptic technique.
Qualifications
- ARRT-CT (ARRT-COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY) license within 12 months of hire.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification issued by the same organizations, within 30 days of hire.
