Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
  • Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
  • Performs CT procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
  • Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed.
  • Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by CT procedure protocols.
  • Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates daily workflow for the department’s activities.
  • Maintains equipment in efficient operating order.
  • Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
  • Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
  • Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
  • Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
  • Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
  • Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Associates in CT physics and cross-sectional anatomy Preferred.
  • 1 year general radiology experience via employment or training Required.
  • Radiologic Technologist - License Certified AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Required or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - License AZ Certified Nuclear Med Technologist Required Certified CT Technologist (CTCT) - Certification Required Certified CT Technologist (CTCT) - Certification AZ . A Temporary license is acceptable at the time of hire. A permanent license must be obtained within twelve months from the hire date. 1 Year Required.
  • ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Certification Current and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT(R in addition to ARRT (CT) within a year of hire.
  • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) - CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) - Certification Current and valid NMTCB and licensure must be provided prior to start date Required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Current and valid Basic Life Support Certification Required.
