CT Scan Technologist-Inpatient

About the role

Under the supervision of the CT Supervisor, the incumbent produces diagnostic CT scans, assisting the radiologist in diagnostic CT scan procedures, and ensuring patient care while representing the vision and mission of Renown Health System.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic CT scans and assist the radiologist in diagnostic CT scan procedures.
• Ensure patient care appropriate to the age of the patient served (neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety standards.
• Coordinate daily workflow and assist in the throughput of ER, in-patients, and outpatients.
• Provide appropriate quality control (QC) monitoring as specified in the job description evaluation section.
• Maintain current CPR certification and mandatory in-services.
• Make technical decisions to provide the best possible CT scans.
• Administer IV contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist.
• Operate in-house CT scanning and contrast injecting equipment proficiently.
• Use hospital and departmental computer systems with general knowledge attained through training.
• Perform advance imaging for trauma, Stroke, Code aorta, in-patients, and outpatients.
• Stay current with changes in the field of CT.
• Manage appropriate care prioritizations with rapidly changing volumes demands.
• Coordinate with the CT department on a daily basis and provide strategic planning input for the future direction of the department.
• Perform CT procedures of the human body according to guidelines recommended by the Imaging Director and Renown Health CT Department Policy & Procedure manual.
• Operate a variety of sophisticated CT imaging units and image storage systems.
• Provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and exam evaluation of patients and families.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate excellent communication skills, flexibility, and ability to work under stress in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiological Technologists ARRT(R) upon hire.
• AART (CT) Registry must be acquired within 12 months upon hire.
• State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.
• AHA BLS certification within 60 days upon hire.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Preferred experience

• 2 years of clinical diagnostic radiographic experience preferred.
