CT/Radiology Technologist (FT) - Night Shift

Full-time night shift position in the Brazos area.

About the Role

Must be a graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program with a valid ARRT license and certification in CT by the ARRT (preferred). A valid MRT license by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) is required. The Radiologic Technologist functions within the legal scope of practice, adhering to federal, state, and local laws, as well as institutional policies. The role focuses on patient safety, accountability, and continued competence in practice. The technologist assists physicians and registered nurses with basic patient care under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs (X-rays) as directed by physicians or radiologists.
• Position patients appropriately and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified body areas.
• Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors (e.g., time and distance) based on radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
• Practice radiation protection techniques, including beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure.
• Prepare patients for examinations, including contrast administration, IV placements, and lab checks.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families while maintaining professionalism and effective communication.
• Complete skill check-offs demonstrating competency in assisting nurses and physicians.
• Facilitate departmental operations by completing appropriate forms (e.g., Contrast, Extravasation, Pregnancy).
• Perform laboratory duties, including specimen collection, testing, and reporting as assigned by the Laboratory Director.
• Run controls, calibrate instruments, and maintain laboratory equipment and records per policy.
• Assist with patient assessments, examinations, treatments, and procedures (e.g., crutch walking, dressing changes, splint/cast application).
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including preparing rooms between patients and procedures.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, OSHA, and hazardous materials regulations and policies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
• Perform front-office duties as needed (e.g., registration, filing, data entry).

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Associate’s degree in applied science or equivalent with diploma/certification from an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
• At least two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital or emergency room setting.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with current certification.
• Current Texas license from the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiology/CT equipment functioning.
• Proficiency in typing and computer systems (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR systems).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; additional languages preferred.
• Ability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a background check.
