About the role

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking qualified candidates for various CT/MRI Technologist positions. ANTHC is a non-profit Tribal health organization dedicated to serving Alaska Native and American Indian communities. This role involves providing CT and MRI examinations for diagnosis and treatment.

Responsibilities

• All schedule patients for CT and MRI examinations and perform CT and MRI studies.
• Transfer back and forth from CT and MRI throughout the shift.
• Evaluate the nature of critical and emergency procedures and arrange patient priorities.
• Receive patients, explain the method of examination, and prepare patients for imaging.
• Complete routine examinations and confer with radiologists to establish protocols for non-standard examinations.
• Maintain records of patients imaged, type of examinations performed, and protocols used.
• Monitor examinations by checking computations, performances, and results of the selected parameters to obtain effective diagnostic computer-generated data and images.
• Under the guidance and approval of the site Radiologist, administer contrast agents according to protocol.
• Review patient charts for lab and order information.
• Conduct screening interviews of patients to identify contraindications, such as ferrous objects, pregnancy, prosthetic heart valves, cardiac pacemakers, allergy to contrast, etc.
• Comply with all safety policies and regulations.
• Ensure imaging equipment is operated within the manufacturer's guidelines.
• Record computer data on the appropriate archiving database.
• Assist with quality control and improvement.
• Monitor and implement technological improvements in CT and MRI scanning.
• Report any equipment or application problems.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace.
• Monitor stock of imaging supplies and ensure reorder.
• Maintain technical competency through clinical education and participation in company-sponsored training programs.
• Adhere to principles of ALARA and use available radiation protection devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited diagnostic imaging program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
• Minimum Experience Qualifications:
  • CT/MRI TECHNOLOGIST I: Two (2) years of professional Radiologic Technologist experience.
  • CT/MRI TECHNOLOGIST II: Four (4) years of professional CT/MRI operation experience.
  • CT/MRI TECHNOLOGIST III: Six (6) years of professional CT/MRI operation experience.
• Minimum Certification Qualifications:
  • All must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must possess and maintain a certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • CT/MRI Technologist I: Must be ARRT registered in Radiology, Computed Tomography (CT) and/or registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or Registry eligible and pass the CT and/or MRI registry within six (6) months of start of position.
  • CT/MRI Technologist II, III: Must be registered in Computed Tomography (CT) and/or registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
• Preferred Education Qualifications: None specified.
• Preferred Experience Qualifications: Two (2) years of CT/MRI operation experience preferred.
• Preferred Certification Qualifications: Registered in both Computed Tomography (CT) and registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

• Ability to operate CT and MRI technology and resolve problems with imaging equipment.

• Ability to perform venipuncture competently.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients and other employees.
• Ability to operate a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
• Ability to organize and communicate effectively.
