Responsibilities

  • CT Simulation for Radiation Therapy
    • Conduct CT simulations in preparation for radiation therapy treatment planning.
    • Accurately position and immobilize patients using appropriate devices (e.g., vac lock bags).
    • Mark treatment sites (tattoos) and ensure consistent reproducibility of treatment setup.
    • Transfer acquired simulation data to the treatment planning system (TPS) in coordination with dosimetrists and radiation oncologists.
  • Radiation Therapy Assistant
    • Assist radiation therapists in patient positioning for treatment delivery, based on simulation data.
    • Monitor and support patients during radiation therapy sessions, addressing comfort and safety.
    • Ensure all tasks comply with HIPAA, state, and federal radiation safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification in X-Ray and/or Radiation Therapy required.
  • State licensure in Radiologic Technology and/or Radiation Therapy required and will be verified prior to employment.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and will be verified prior to employment.
  • Familiarity with ARIA, Linear Accelerators, and Treatment Planning Systems (TPS) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, radiation physics, imaging protocols, and patient safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all regulatory requirements.
