Responsibilities
- CT Simulation for Radiation Therapy
- Conduct CT simulations in preparation for radiation therapy treatment planning.
- Accurately position and immobilize patients using appropriate devices (e.g., vac lock bags).
- Mark treatment sites (tattoos) and ensure consistent reproducibility of treatment setup.
- Transfer acquired simulation data to the treatment planning system (TPS) in coordination with dosimetrists and radiation oncologists.
- Radiation Therapy Assistant
- Assist radiation therapists in patient positioning for treatment delivery, based on simulation data.
- Monitor and support patients during radiation therapy sessions, addressing comfort and safety.
- Ensure all tasks comply with HIPAA, state, and federal radiation safety regulations.
Qualifications
- ARRT certification in X-Ray and/or Radiation Therapy required.
- State licensure in Radiologic Technology and/or Radiation Therapy required and will be verified prior to employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required and will be verified prior to employment.
- Familiarity with ARIA, Linear Accelerators, and Treatment Planning Systems (TPS) preferred.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, radiation physics, imaging protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all regulatory requirements.
