Description of Duties
The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, regular exempt, Collegiate Science Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) Project Director position in the Academic Affairs department, beginning July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Lead administration of the CSTEP program, including budgeting, reporting, compliance with NYSED/state regulations, and coordination with campus offices and statewide partners.
- Cook major program operations, including data collection/reporting, purchasing/travel processes, inventory, and student worker supervision.
- Maintain strong external and internal relationships, including communication with NYSED, collaboration with regional CSTEP/STEP directors, service on statewide committees, cooperation with other student support services on campus.
- Develop and manage academic and experiential programming, including internships, research opportunities, workshops, seminars, and co-curricular activities.
- Recruit, advise, and support students through regular check-ins, academic planning, and addressing professional and personal development needs.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships by leading outreach efforts and managing Industry and Student Advisory Boards to strengthen program effectiveness and engagement.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to create, deliver, and assess programming in relation to students’ academic, professional, and personal growth.
- Experience with data collection and spreadsheet creation/maintenance.
- Ability to multi-task and supervise in a fast paced and diverse environment.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
- Bachelor's Degree and three years related experience.
- Prior experience working with under-represented and culturally diverse populations.
- Masters Degree (preferred).
