About the Role
Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) are allied health professionals who are an integral part of the team providing surgical care to patients. CSTs work under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical Technologists are experts in the theory and application of the principles of asepsis and sterile technique, combining knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and tools to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
CSTs collaborate with leadership in developing and implementing the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Systems culture, vision, mission, and goals.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures under the supervision of a surgeon.
- Ensure the operating room environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
- Apply principles of asepsis and sterile technique.
- Support invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Collaborate with leadership on organizational culture, vision, mission, and goals.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) prior to the year 2022 or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology Associate Degree program as of 2022.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months to a year of scrub experience.
- Active membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) organization.
Benefits

Schedule
Full-time, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
