About the Role
Interact with new and existing customers to match services that best fit their individual needs. Maintain and service an existing client base, respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and assist customers with financial transactions. Identify and resolve cash balancing errors while keeping accurate records of the Bank’s transactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers promptly in person, by telephone, or electronically, meeting or exceeding Bank standards as outlined in the Serve Like Family Playbook.
- Open new accounts, update customer files, or close accounts according to policy.
- Meet accuracy and correctness standards as defined annually.
- Meet or exceed cross-sell goals and contribute to branch deposit growth and profitability.
- Resolve customer complaints or refer them to the appropriate individual for resolution.
- Record detailed documentation of customer interactions, transactions, complaints, and actions taken.
- Verify that appropriate action was taken to resolve customer problems.
- Examine documents for valid signatures, endorsements, and legality (e.g., dates, bank names, identification).
- Cash checks and pay out money after verifying numerical amounts and sufficient funds in accounts.
- Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and check accuracy of deposit slips.
- Enter customer transactions into computers and issue computer-generated receipts.
- Accept loan payments, verify payment amounts, loan status, and payoff amounts as required.
- Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at the end of each business day and calculate daily transactions.
- Count currency, coins, and checks received, either manually or using a currency-counting machine.
- Order cash supplies to meet daily needs.
- Prepare and verify bank products such as cashier’s checks, money orders, traveler’s checks, and gift cards.
- Assist customers with safe deposit box entry and create/submit necessary forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Typically requires 1-2 years of related work experience with the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential requirements of the job.
- Basic bookkeeping skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
