About the role

The On-Call Mental Health Professional works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor or Project Manager and acts as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. The role provides crisis intervention services at a residential treatment facility, offering comprehensive psychosocial assessments, linking clients with community resources, and facilitating crisis resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in psychiatric consultation, supervision, program meetings and in-service trainings
  • Complete and document biopsychosocial assessments, intakes, risk and safety assessments, success plans, care conference outcomes, and other clinical support according to agency guidelines
  • Provide one-on-one counseling with clients to support their stabilization
  • Create and implement short-term care plans, develop client-driven goal planners and discharge dispositions
  • Facilitate linkages to community resources and services as needed
  • Participate in verbal de-escalation and physical interventions in emergent situations
  • Work as a team to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment including 15-minute client wellness checks
  • Demonstrate DESC core values and professionalism in all client and staff interactions
  • Provide phone consolation for referents of the CSC, monitor office security cameras, answer phone calls, and other administrative duties
  • Serve food, do laundry and change linens, help clean common areas, and occasionally clean up bodily fluids and biohazardous waste using appropriate PPE
  • Attend a 1-week onboarding process upon hiring and attend a full day of mandatory training during employment

Requirements

  • Be reasonably available to accept on-call shifts with less than 24 hours' notice during day/swing/night shift hours. Must work a minimum of 15 hours per month or two 7.5-hour shifts
  • Maintain current contact information with supervisor, including phone, email, text, etc.
  • Once a shift is accepted, it is expected that the shift is worked from start to finish, except in extraordinary circumstances that must be communicated with a supervisor
  • Attend to work responsibilities while on duty and limit personal phone calls and other interruptions to break times except for emergencies

Qualifications

  • Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or any other superseding credential that meets RCW 71.05.020 requirements to act as a Mental Health Professional whose scope of practice includes independently conducting mental health assessments and making mental health diagnoses
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology or other relevant behavioral science, or Bachelor of Nursing degree with specialty in mental health
  • Interest in working with clients who are difficult to engage and maintain in traditional mental health/substance use disorder programs
  • Be able to pass a Washington State Criminal background check
  • Ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit
  • Is familiar with Recovery Principles, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Integrated Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders, Intensive Case Management, Illness Management, Trauma-Informed Treatment, strengths-based client centered treatment, relevant Evidenced based/Emerging best practices, and strong working knowledge of DSM V

Skills

  • Ability to drive an agency vehicle to conduct agency related business, which requires a current Washington State driver’s license and insurable driving record

Pay

$63.10 per hour

Schedule

Variable. Day shift: 7am-3:30pm, Swing shift: 3pm-11:30pm, Night shift: 11pm-7:30am

Shift Differential

  • $1.00 per hour for Night Shift
  • $0.50 per hour for Swing Shift

    About CSC

    The Crisis Solution Center (CSC) is a temporary residential treatment facility that is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including holidays. The CSC provides stabilization services for individuals, ages 18 and older, experiencing a behavioral health crisis, substance use crisis, and a post-overdose crisis. The CSC has two project components, the Crisis Diversion Facility (CDF) and the Crisis Diversion Interim Services (CDIS).

    Job Description

    The On-Call Mental Health Professional works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor or Project Manager and acts as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing crisis intervention services at a residential treatment facility, Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing comprehensive psychosocial assessments; coordinating and problem solving with first responders and other referents; creating and developing detailed recovery oriented disposition plans; linking clients with appropriate community resources; facilitating crisis resolution in the least restrictive environment; and assisting with arranging transportation for clients to appropriate facilities as needed.
