CS SPD Certified Technician

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is a Magnet Hospital, offering world-class healthcare. As a Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and health of patients through your work in operating rooms.

Responsibilities

• Provide stellar care by setting up the operating room safely and efficiently.
• Operate the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and use the newest sterilization tools and concepts.
• Support the team by performing case pull functions, scanning, sorting, and inspecting instruments.
• Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection of reusable instrumentation.
• Maintain and control the distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Perform recordkeeping functions and participate in in-service education.
• Build case carts and assist in educating non-certified technicians.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two to five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas
• Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER)
• Completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing
• Proficient in using computerized instrument tracking systems

Preferred qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Background in customer service
• Background in manufacturing, warehouse, or machinery
• Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.
• Ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $21.50
Maximum hourly: $29.50
