Job Summary

Role Overview: As a key technical leader within our payment and digital asset initiatives, you will drive the high-level design, architecture, and proof-of-concept (POC) development for our next-generation digital asset platforms. While the global financial landscape rapidly shifts toward decentralized networks, you will ensure we remain highly competitive by designing robust, secure, and scalable architectures for cryptocurrency, tokenized assets, and smart contracts.

Hiring Urgency: ASAP / Urgent Hire

Compensation: Highly competitive; rate exceptions are available for exceptionally strong technical candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Level Design & Architecture: Map out the integration of digital assets, ledger systems, and tokenization processes (e.g., designing how traditional fiat deposits are securely tokenized).
  • Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs): Evaluate third-party and vendor ledger systems. Install, configure, test, and determine the optimal toolstack (potentially utilizing FastAPI for rapid prototyping).
  • System Integration & Messaging: Ensure seamless communication between decentralized ledgers and legacy systems, utilizing ISO 20022 payment messaging formats.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the technical subject matter expert, presenting architectural decisions and working closely with senior leadership, product teams, and project partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Core Technical Expertise:
    • Digital Assets & Blockchain: Deep, hands-on understanding of cryptography, digital assets, blockchain networks, smart contracts, and tokenization mechanics.
    • Software Engineering (Java & Python): Strong production-level coding experience in both Java and Python (an 80/20 split in proficiency in either direction is perfectly acceptable).
    • Standards & Compliance: Solid, practical understanding of ISO 20022 payment messaging standards.
    • Architecture & Setup: Proven ability to design system integrations from scratch, including setting up vendor-provided ledgers, configuring APIs, and establishing deposit-tokenization workflows.
  • Soft Skills & Delivery:
    • Architectural Communication: Outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex blockchain/crypto designs to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Agile Mindset: Comfortable navigating fast-moving, iterative environments with a high degree of autonomy.

Preferred & Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Banking/Financial Services Experience: Prior exposure to a large-scale bank environment is highly preferred to help navigate communication channels, risk/compliance frameworks, and complex internal architectures.
  • FastAPI Experience: Practical experience using Python's FastAPI framework for building and testing APIs during POCs.
  • Legacy Messaging Networks: Any familiarity with the traditional SWIFT network (such as SWIFT Alliance, Web Platform, or SWIFT protocols) is a plus, but not required.
