About the role
Cryptanalytic Computer Scientists solve challenging cryptanalytic, high-performance computing, and computer network operations problems of critical importance to protecting the nation's interests in cyberspace.
Responsibilities
- Using principles, techniques, procedures, and tools to architect and facilitate the development of hardware solutions
- Applying software engineering principles to design and/or develop software applications
- Developing methods and applications for tools to exploit and analyze computer systems and network vulnerabilities
- Determining and implementing security measures to protect computer systems and networks
- Designing and optimizing algorithms, data structures, modeling, and analytics to solve real-world scientific problems
- Communicating effectively and working well in a team environment
- Desiring to learn, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Requirements
- Candidates must be United States citizens
- Hold an active Top Secret clearance with Secure Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
- Have a positively adjudicated polygraph
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics (including Applied Math) or a related field (i.e. other Engineering or Math) with at least one programming and at least four upper-level math classes (Calculus and above), required.
- Level 1: 2 years applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR 4 years’ applicable experience with associate degree
- Level 2: 2 years’ applicable experience with a PhD, OR 3 years’ applicable experience with a master’s degree, OR 5 years’ applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR 7 years’ applicable experience with an associate degree
- Level 3: 4 years’ applicable experience with a PhD, OR 6 years’ applicable experience with a master’s degree, OR 8 years’ applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR 10 years’ applicable experience with an associate degree
- Level 4: 7 years’ applicable experience with a PhD, OR 9 years’ applicable experience with a master’s degree, OR 11 years’ applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR 13 years’ applicable experience with an associate degree

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $150,000 per year
