Crushing Plant Operator/Equipment Operator

About the role

Operate crushing plant and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices and an excellent safety culture
• Responsible for safe and efficient operation of all assigned equipment
• Complete daily inspections and maintenance checklist
• Participates in pre-shift safety huddles
• Performs routine maintenance and various equipment repairs as needed
• Responsible for reporting incidents and accidents to supervisor or management
• Maintain an open line of communication with team members to promote team productivity
• Responsible to report to plant supervisor or superintendent of any potential safety hazards

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with peers
• Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes
• Able to operate equipment efficiently
• Ability to perform tasks as given from supervisors as well as work as part of a team
• Adaptable to changing conditions
• Mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance and repairs
• Comfortable working at heights

Working conditions

Working conditions are outdoors and vary throughout the season. Preparation for these changing conditions and the ability to adapt is required.

Physical Requirements

• Constant (67-100%): Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
• Constant (67-100%): Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, extreme temperatures and confined spaces
• Frequently (34-66%): Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Frequently (34-66%): Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally (0-33%): Ability to use office equipment such as computers, telephones, copiers, etc.
• Occasionally (0-33%): Ability to climb stairs and ladders
