Crusher Operator
About the role
The Crusher Operator position at Fisher Industries involves the safe operation of crushing and conveying plants, performing limited maintenance, and assisting with general laborer duties. The role requires familiarity with heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, and excavators.
Responsibilities
- Operate and assist with the operation of crusher plants
- Keep a close watch for potential hazards and report them to the crew leader/operator
- Assist with the setup and tear down of plants
- Perform general maintenance, inspection, repair, and service of equipment and plants
- Clean debris from conveyor belts and around machinery
- Grease machinery weekly
- Run equipment and load when necessary
- Complete pre-shift inspections on equipment before startup
- Perform general labor duties such as service work on equipment, grounds keeping, and other assigned tasks
- Work safely at all times, following MSHA and operating rules and regulations
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy
- S.H.A. certificate part 46 or 48 or willingness to obtain certification (company will pay for certification)
- Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to work under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
- Ability to operate equipment in adverse weather conditions and on steep and rough terrains
- Ability to repeatedly walk up and down steep and rough terrain carrying construction materials
- Punctuality and ability to work as a team player
