Crossing Guard

Position Summary

This position reports to the Crossing Guard Supervisor. Assists pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets.

Schedule

Monday-Friday (Compensated for 1.5 hours per shift, 3 hours total per day)

• Morning Hours: 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM*
• Monday-Thursday Afternoon Hours: 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM*
• Friday Afternoon Hours: 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM*

*School District schedule changes may affect these hours.

Qualifications

• A. No education or experience is required.
• B. Must be age 18 or older.
• C. Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations in assisting children in crossing streets is preferred.
• D. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and communicate effectively verbally.

Tools and Equipment

Handheld stop sign, safety vest, and traffic cones (provided).

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: light - up to 20 lbs. typical
• Repetitive: standing, walking, listening, talking, grasping, smiling.
• Work Environment: Outdoors - all weather conditions (Coat provided)

Pay

$16.00/hour
