Responsibilities
- Directs the action of children and traffic at assigned crosswalks to ensure safe crossing of students.
- Directs visitors to the office.
- Escorts children across the street and parking lots.
- Issues verbal warnings, reports misconduct, and requests assistance from appropriate personnel as required.
- Maintains communications with the building principal and/or law enforcement agencies regarding incidents that could impact pedestrian safety.
- Maintains discipline and ensures student compliance with district and building rules, policies, and regulations.
- Supervises parking lots and school grounds.
Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certification (American Heart Association / Red Cross / etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Demands
- Sits, stands, walks, stoops, kneels, and crouches/squats while performing duties.
- Uses eyes, hands, and finger coordination enabling the use of equipment and writing utensils.
- Has oral and auditory capacity enabling interaction interpersonally and/or through communication devices.
- Distinguishes depth and objects in a wide field of vision.
- Conducts activities involving walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching/squatting, twisting, and reaching.
