About the Role
Ensure students get safely across designated intersections.
Qualifications
- GED or High School Diploma
- Valid Texas Driver’s license
- Dependable transportation
- Ability to communicate with children and the public
- Ability to read a map and follow directions
Experience preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Safely cross students at designated areas
- Instruct students on basic intersection-safety procedures
- Cross any pedestrian at elementary, intermediate, or high-school locations
- Remain constantly alert to all traffic—moving or stopped—and any circumstance that may affect student safety
- Report traffic violations (speeding, failure to stop, blocking crosswalks) by recording license-plate numbers and vehicle descriptions to supervisor and/or PISD Police Department
- Take charge in emergencies until proper authorities arrive
- Use and care for all issued equipment
- Maintain self-control at all times
