Cross Trained Assistant (Nights) - Emergency Room

About the role

The Cross-Trained Assistant provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. They must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients on the assigned unit and can serve as the unit secretary.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• Function as the unit secretary on a patient care area.
• Understand the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Be able to function in an assistive role to provide patient care.
• Know the workings of the unit information flow and facilitate this information for efficiency.
• Be responsible for activities of patient care involving activities of daily living.
• Work as a unit secretary in a busy patient care unit.
• Adequately adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• 1-3 years experience
