Cross Country Coach 2026-27 TMS

The Lakeland Joint School District is seeking applications for a Cross Country Coach at Timberlake Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year.

About the role

Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive cross country program that promotes student growth, sportsmanship, and physical fitness. This includes planning and executing training sessions, organizing meets, and managing team logistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a cross country program aligned with district goals and objectives.
• Plan and execute training sessions to improve student performance and skills.
• Organize and manage meets, including setting up venues, coordinating transportation, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, communicating with parents, and maintaining equipment.
• Encourage positive sportsmanship and promote a healthy lifestyle among students.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance the overall athletic program.

Requirements

• At least three years of coaching experience at the middle school level or equivalent.
• A bachelor's degree in physical education, coaching, or a related field.
• Proven ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.
• Experience with cross country running and knowledge of the sport.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule

Hours are typically 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Monday through Friday, with additional evening and weekend responsibilities as needed.
