Cross Connection Assistant

Essential Functions

• Inspects facilities in the field for appropriate backflow requirements
• Tests Watershed backflows
• Prepares reports indicating the required devices, locations, and account information
• Checks that all backflow components are in functioning order and maintained properly
• Ensures correct installation of required components
• Fixes or replaces parts as required to maintain proper working order of backflow apparatus
• Attends pre-construction meetings and answers questions pertaining to backflow issues
• Reviews construction plans with contractors
• Affords assistance to Cross Connection Specialist as required

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED
• Four years work experience involving water operations, water laboratory, or water related construction/maintenance
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job

Specific License or Certification Required

• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license
• Must obtain a Backflow Device Technician certificate within one year of employment and maintain such certification during employment in this classification
