CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Surgery Center

Description Summary

CHRISTUS Surgery Center - Shreveport is seeking a Full-time CRNA to work 40 hours a week, no call, no weekends, and the ability to pick up extra shifts at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center if desired. The CRNA will provide anesthesia services under the delegation of a physician.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients peri-operatively, perform patient history and physical, review patient records to determine health status, review results of diagnostic tests, treatments, and orders as appropriate
• Provide patient and family education
• Perform routine procedures including: draw venous/arterial blood, administer general, regional, and local anesthesia, administer injections, administer local infiltrative anesthesia, Intravenous catheter placement and administration of fluids, muscle relaxants, vasoactive and cardiac drugs
• Perform other responsibilities such as mechanical ventilation, resuscitation techniques, hypertensive care, and hypothermia

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing required
• 2 - 3 years of experience preferred
• APRN License in state of employment required
• CRNA certification from NBCRNA required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• BLS required
