ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aid with battery replacements and new installations.
- Support preventative maintenance of batteries with minimal disruption to customers.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed.
- Effectively interact with both internal and external customers.
- Comply strictly with critical facility work rules and safety procedures.
- Operate and maintain hand and general maintenance tools and equipment.
- Keep the job site clean during replacement, installation, and maintenance.
- Participate in work in other service divisions (Switch Gear, Operations, HVAC, etc.) as required.
- Follow work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Learn and perform tasks such as disconnecting and connecting sealed batteries in cabinets and open racks.
- Learn and perform tasks such as building flooded cell battery racks and spill containment systems.
- Learn and perform tasks such as installing flooded cell batteries onto rack systems in the customer's critical space.
- Enter pre-installation test readings into our reporting format using a laptop computer.
- Collect data from preventive maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine, and emergency maintenance and repairs with minimal direct supervision to DC battery systems.
- Gain experience from preventive maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs with minimum direct supervision to DC battery systems.
- Perform regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma.
- Clean driving records are mandatory.
- Safe operation of department equipment.
- Basic AC/DC theory, electronic components, and electronic circuitry knowledge or ability to learn.
- Training on:
- Use of Digital multimeter for AC and DC diagnostic measurements.
- Use of Amp Clamp and flexible CT in DC and AC measures.
- Use of Alber Cellcorder for use as a battery testing and maintenance tool for a multitude of various battery designs and chemistries.
- Show understanding of proper use of:
- Isolation devices to control available voltage potentials.
- Necessary use of Arc-Flash suit and PPE.
- Show competency in the connections of series, parallel, and series-parallel battery strings.
- Understand torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of completed battery cabinet installations.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel.
COMPENSATION
Pay Range: $27.21 - $40.82 per hour
