Critical Lifts Technician II, Amazon Leo
About the role
The Critical Lifts Technician II plays a crucial role in executing development and production integration of Amazon's Leo satellite constellation. This position requires a high level of detail orientation, reliability, and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive hardware
- Develop a deep knowledge of proper and safe rigging uses for both lifting and handling gear
- Obtain licenses as a crane, forklift, aerial work platform and specialty crane operator
- Operate and maintain cranes, forklifts, aerial work platforms and specialty cranes in a clean-room environment
- Run pre-lift safety briefings with up to 10 people
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environment
Requirements
- Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted
- Able to climb and down ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
- 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
- 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
- Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings

Pay
The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure.
Schedule
Estimated shift time: 1st shift Wed-Sat 4 / 10s (6:00 am – 4:30 pm). Shifts may vary, depending on program needs.

A day in the life: The Critical Lifts Technician II is responsible for execution of assigned tasks based on production requirements and priorities. You will also be expected to communicate production blockers and process changes to engineers and leadership where applicable. Attend daily meetings to discuss priorities, safety, and quality issues or concerns. You must also thrive in a fast paced and high-stress production environment with changing priorities and objectives.
