Critical Facility Engineer - Harwood, ND

About the role

The Critical Facility Engineer is responsible for maintaining important mechanical, electrical, and control systems in a critical environment facility. Key job activities include delivering timely and quality client service while providing a sustainable approach to data center systems maintenance. The Critical Facility Engineer demonstrates BGIS values daily in communication with the client and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Client Service Focus
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients.
  • Complete client service requests in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergency calls.
  • Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
• Maintain Data Center Systems
  • Perform maintenance to ensure the highest level of efficiency without disruption to the business.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks in accordance with BGIS Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system upgrades.
  • Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.
  • Request proposals for outsourced work.
  • Monitor vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets BGIS and client standards.
  • Accurate and timely completion of work order requests.
  • Escalate issues to Critical Environment Facility Manager as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Two years’ experience in a similar working environment with HVAC or Electrical knowledge.
• One-year experience in a specific Critical Environments position.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems and equipment typically used in critical environments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site response.
• Ability and willingness to travel regionally; personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office (reimbursed).

Skills

• Controls, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PLC controls and industrial automation systems.

• Critical facility procedure use and development.
• Time management focus to prioritize and complete work in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred; SharePoint and Power BI experience is a plus.
• Navigation, operating experience, and understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, Building Automation Systems, Emergency Power Monitoring Systems, and Fire Alarm Systems.
