Critical Facilities Technician (DISA OKC)
Job Summary
EMCOR Government Services, Inc. is seeking an energetic Critical Facilities Technician to serve as a technical resource and leader for DISA Data Centers in Oklahoma City, OK. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations.
About the Role
The position involves overseeing and maintaining critical data center infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance with performance standards. It also includes supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, monitoring and responding to abnormal conditions, managing critical power distribution, ensuring fire/life safety systems remain fully operational, conducting inspection rounds, and assisting with O&M tasks, facility improvements, and IDIQ project execution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain critical data center infrastructure to ensure reliability and compliance with performance standards.
- Support installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Maintain high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs in facilities at a minimum.
- Conduct inspection rounds, document deficiencies, and ensure corrections are completed.
- Assist with O&M tasks, facility improvements, and IDIQ project execution.
- Collaborate closely with the Facility Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager.
- Comply with all PPE and safety requirements.
- Regularly participate in after hours on-call rotation and lead system recovery efforts when issues arise.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of data-center electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
- At least three years of experience working in a data center or similar mission-critical environment.
- Familiarity with generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, and clean agent suppression.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout, and arc flash protection.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system diagrams.
- Skilled in using critical monitoring systems, trending data, and troubleshooting industrial equipment (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, VFDs, BAS/PLC, HVAC equipment).
- Proficiency with MS Office and CMMS applications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment (multimeter, IR camera).
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must work onsite; telework is not permitted.
- Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and currently have, or be able to obtain, a Secret Security Clearance.
- Licenses: Must possess an active State of Oklahoma (or reciprocal) Journeyman Electrician License or Journeyman HVAC Mechanical License. Equivalent state recognized journeyman credentials are acceptable based on Oklahoma reciprocity rules.
- Education & Certifications: High School Diploma or GED required. OSHA-10 and NFPA 70E certification required during employment. CPR/First Aid certification may be required depending on experience level.
