Critical Care Veterinary Technician

Schedule: Saturdays 7am-7:30pm

  • Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
  • Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment
  • Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
  • Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
  • Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
  • Perform monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
  • Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

Requirements:

  • State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous Critical Care, Nursing or Emergency experience desired
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We are looking for someone who enjoys phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, assisting with recovery and client follow up and education. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work additional hours when necessary.
