About the role
The MICU Paramedic functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence. The MICU paramedic provides advanced emergency/critical care in conjunction with a CareFlight Nurse during transport and may also provide patient care for patients in Miami Valley Hospital and any Premier Health facility where a Mobile Intensive Care Unit is based. The CareFlight MICU paramedic works with all populations of patients. This position also includes public relations and medical education functions.
Requirements
- High School completion / GED
- Certified as a Paramedic in the State of Ohio
- Paramedic in the State of Ohio
- Minimum 3 years of full time Paramedic experience required
- Preferred to have recent full-time active experience with 911 Emergency Service Agency or MICU Transport Company
Certifications
- BLS, ACLS and PALS – required at time of hire
- ITLS or PHTLS – required within 90 days of hire
- NRP, ATLS (audit) – required within 1 year of hire
- CAMTS approved professional certification – required within 2 years of hire
