Critical Care Transport Paramedic

About the Role

The Critical Care Paramedic provides high-quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients in all age groups. Uses an interdisciplinary model to work with the AirLink/VitaLink Staff Nurse and other appropriate medical personnel to establish and prioritize a plan of care consistent with approved treatment protocols, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an accepted EMT-Paramedic program
• Current FP-C or CCP-C certification with at least three (3) years of paramedic experience in a paid EMS system OR a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Critical Care Transport paramedic (if FP-C or CCP-C certification is absent)
• Current North Carolina Paramedic or Nationally Registered Paramedic (NC Paramedic required for direct patient care)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, and PALS certification
• Advanced trauma certification and NRP required within 6 months of hire
• International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC) Flight Paramedic (FP-C) or Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) certification required within 2 years of hire

Additional Skills/Requirements

• Eligibility to obtain South Carolina Paramedic certification
• Dual certification in North and South Carolina for paramedics assigned to flight duties
• Current and valid driver’s license (NC license required within 30 days if out-of-state)
• Must meet general hospital driving requirements
• EVO certification required to drive during emergency situations
• Must be 19 years of age with zero points on driving record
