Specific Duties
- Provide effective, safe care to any patient transported.
- Provide nursing care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
- Attend required staff and educational meetings.
- Perform duties on the Critical Care Unit in disastrous or mass critical transports.
- Maintain certifications and licenses as mandated by the position.
- Complies with all Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations
- Maintain positive communication effectively while interfacing with fellow employees, patients, referring hospitals, EMS representatives and the community at large.
- Uphold and adhere to all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Must possess a high degree of personal integrity and responsibility.
- Currently licensed, certified or registered by the appropriate state agencies.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Minimum of three years’ critical care/emergency nursing experience.
- Current RN license(s) for states of practice.
- Current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS and PALS required.
- PHTLS and CICP is preferred but not required.
- Competence in advanced practice skills as defined by Medical Director.
- Skills as required to practice nursing as defined by the AZ Board of Nursing.
- Must have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, using good judgment.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, hectic, high-pressure environment.
- Must have the ability to simultaneously manage multiple activities without error.
- Must have the ability to work efficiently and interact in a constructive and professional manner with other employees, public safety personnel and medical staff.
- Must have the ability to interact effectively and professionally with patients, customers, clients, family members, bystanders, and the general public in such a manner as to reflect positively on the company.
- Must demonstrate a level of skill and ability consistent with the provision of quality customer care.
- Preface previous or current certification as Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic
