Critical Care Technician | Intensive Care Unit

About the Role

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a healthcare professional to join our ICU team as a part-time Critical Care Technician. This role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, 20-bed Level II Trauma Intensive Care/Critical Care Unit. C.N.A.s, CSTs, LPNs, EMTs, and Paramedics are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide LOVE + MEDICINE for a broad range of critical patients, including post-cardiothoracic surgery, neurovascular interventions, ventilated patients, traumas, continuous renal replacement therapy, and post-cardiac arrest care.
• Assist with patient transports and transfers, patient room setup, and centralized telemetry monitoring.
• Collect lab specimens for diagnostic testing and perform technical procedures under physician direction, including assisting providers during central line insertion.
• Work under the direction of an RN, MD, PA, or NP in Critical Care to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Schedule

Part-time, 48 hours biweekly (0.6 FTE). 12-hour day/night rotating shifts (6:30a - 7p, 6:30p - 7a), every 3rd weekend and holiday. Full-time orientation for 8 weeks.

Pay

Starting pay of $19.05 per hour and up, based on years of experience, with generous shift/weekend/holiday differentials.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency, with primary source verification of education at time of hire.
• 6 months of experience in healthcare with direct patient care.
• One of the following certifications/licenses:
  • Wisconsin Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Wisconsin
  • Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT)
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic - Wisconsin (EMT-P) or National Registry (NREMT-P)
  • Critical Care Paramedic Endorsement (CCEMT-P)
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
