Critical Care Tech Intensive Care Unit

About the Role

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the patient care technician is responsible for direct patient care considering age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well-being, including concepts of relationship-based care.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care as delegated by the RN to identify/attain treatment goals, such as:
• Assists patients in completing activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Demonstrates sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities
• Records patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements
• Completes delegated unit-specific activities
• Assists in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well-being

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long-term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program

Schedule

Shifts available: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am. Every other weekend and 3 holidays per year required for full-time and part-time team members.
