Role Overview

The Registered Nurse Resource Pool provides direct patient care within the scope of the practice act, utilizing therapeutic communication and maintaining a safe environment. Nurses serve as role models, respond to requests promptly, and participate in performance improvement activities. In the acting charge nurse role, they oversee daily operations, assign staff based on acuity, and ensure quality care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care needs and carry out physician orders.
• Administer medications, change dressings, and monitor vital signs.
• Record and communicate patient conditions using computerized systems.
• Educate patients and families as part of multidisciplinary care teams.
• Assess patient needs and plan individualized care.
• Document patient conditions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current RN license from an accredited school and Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: 2+ years of clinical nursing experience.
