Responsibilities

• Perform admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition, providing nursing care to meet physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. Notify doctor of changes in assessment that require attention.
• Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and the transition of care plan, including safe discharge planning. Collaborate with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs.
• Formulate a plan of care and daily goals tailored to the individualized needs of the patient.
• Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic studies to reduce anxiety. Monitor and report significant changes in patient conditions to the Charge Nurse/Team Leader and/or physician.
• Implement patient safety initiatives and protocols, including medication safety practices, physician orders, and consult notifications.
• Reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions, notifying the physician as needed to modify care plans. Adjust nursing care to meet emerging and changing patient needs.
• Give and receive shift reports using Bedside Shift Report, including family participation. Provide an accurate and comprehensive report to the oncoming shift to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and one (1) year of RN experience upon hire.
• Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire.
• Active Texas RN license upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification within 14 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.

Pay

$35.45 - $55.36 per hour.
