About the role

COPES Team Therapists/Counselors provide crisis services that divert individuals from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, jail, and emergency rooms. The role involves performing telephone and mobile crisis triage, assessment, and stabilization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform telephone crisis triage during shifts.
  • Travel to crisis situations with a team and police presence to de-escalate and stabilize individuals.
  • Receive extensive specialized training and ongoing support.
  • Work in a fast-paced, crisis-centered environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Licensed as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the State of Oklahoma or under supervision for licensure.
  • Proficient in identifying and treating mental disorders.
  • Knowledgeable in conducting mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments.
  • Demonstrated competency in conducting specialized risk assessments of suicidal and other high-risk individuals.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and familiarity with 43A, Oklahoma Mental Health Law.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to remain calm in emergency situations.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in English.
  • Bilingual candidates may qualify for an additional $2,000 annual premium.

Pay

$82,000/year for licensed therapists/counselors, $72K annual salary for therapists/counselors under supervision. Additional $5K Program Premium with shift differentials and weekend premiums.
