About the Role

This full-time position will join the Heritage Youth and Family Support Services team. The Crisis Clinician will provide crisis support to youth and families experiencing a behavioral health crisis in Macon, Piatt, and DeWitt counties. Services will be provided across a range of settings, including emergency departments, community settings, individuals’ homes, community agencies, healthcare organizations, and Heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone and face-to-face crisis intervention
  • Conduct crisis assessment, counseling, and referral and linkage to treatment services
  • Create a crisis safety plan with youth and family
  • Provide intensive support and facilitate treatment engagement to families following a crisis contact
  • Monitor psychiatric hospitalization stays and facilitate after-care services
  • Provide support and assistance to Heritage staff in navigating crisis intervention
  • Provide case management services (referral, linkage, and advocacy) in the home, community, and provider sites, including but not limited to:
    • Housing/shelter, food, seasonally appropriate clothing, and other basic needs
    • Entitlements and financial management
    • Medical care
    • Socialization
    • Vocation/education
    • Transportation
  • Participate in a team-based approach to treatment, collaborating with family, clinicians, nursing, healthcare providers, probation, and other partners invested in the youth’s recovery
  • Act as back-up Crisis Clinician to the Adult Crisis Response Team

Requirements

  • Ability to meet people where they are in their recovery, remain non-judgmental, and build rapport quickly
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to tolerate ambiguity, uncertainty, and change
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records
  • Ability to respond to supervisors, persons served, and other clinical staff providing services to the person served
  • Hold designation as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) or Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP):
    • MHP: 5 years of supervised experience in behavioral health, Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) designation, or a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or human services
    • QMHP: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, pastoral counseling, or family therapy
  • Flexibility to adjust to an uncertain and changing day-to-day schedule
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance

Pay

  • High School Diploma + 5 years of experience: $23.00/hour, plus every other Friday off, paid
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or human services: $25.00/hour, plus every other Friday off, paid for wellness
  • Master’s degree in human services, social work, or counseling: $60,000/annually, plus every other Friday off, paid for wellness
  • LSW or LPC: $64,000/annually, plus every other Friday off, paid for wellness
  • LCSW/LCPC: $67,000/annually, plus every other Friday off, paid for wellness
