Responsibilities
- Provides accurate assessment of patients requiring evaluation at the Princeton House Admissions Office and the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro Emergency Department to determine appropriate level of care required.
- Demonstrates competency in assessing children, adolescents, and adults.
- Demonstrates competency with suicide risk assessments and crisis intervention.
- Works with managed care companies to determine level of care needed by providing a clear and concise clinical picture.
- Performs telephone assessments and schedules routine evaluations at the Admissions Office.
- Completes verification of benefits and patient registrations at the Admissions Office or the Emergency Department when required.
- Congducts involuntary commitment of patients evaluated in the Emergency Department and assists other staff to coordinate involuntary commitment of patients on the inpatient units.
- Affords assistance in performing client assessments in the Admissions Office for emergency and unscheduled patient.
- Facilitates the transfer of patients to Princeton House from other facilities and also from the University Medical Center to other facilities if required.
- Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, their families, guests and representatives of other organizations, as well as fellow employees, volunteers and medical staff in support of Princeton Healthcare System's mission.
- Maintains appropriate clinical standards for this position by obtaining monthly supervision, participating in continuing education trainings, and complying with licensure requirements (if applicable).
- Affords independent work and assists junior staff with consultation and support with difficult cases.
- Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department collaborates with other caregivers/staff, within and outside the Department, to develop and implement plans to enhance patient care and service.
- Maintains standards of confidentiality.
- Participates in unit compliance as related to established standards.
- Master of Arts or Science (Required)
- Education Specialization: In appropriate Mental Health Discipline
- Equivalent Experience: Or 2+ years Experience on an inpatient or crisis setting.
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience: Or 5+ years Experience on a crisis or inpatient setting.

Part Time - The hours are (11pm-7:30am) Wednesday, Friday, every other Saturday
