Crisis Clinician _ Mental Health Counselor _ Social Worker

Ridgeview is a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, offering an immediate opening for an Overnight Crisis Clinician on weekends.

About the role

Our Mobile Crisis Team operates 24/7, and this position is ideal for a night owl. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 8pm-8am. We provide supervision toward licensure as an LCSW (social work) or LPC-MHSP (counseling), covering all required tests and the license itself. We also offer membership in your professional organization and a bonus upon completion of the Mandatory Prescreening Agent (MPA) program. Our crisis center provides assessments in person or via telehealth from our main location, serving community members experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessment of adults experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
• Determines mental health crisis needs, crisis intervention, telephone consultation, linkage with community resources, and pre-screening admissions of emergency hospital commitments.
• Follows up to ensure appropriate service is available.
• Uses a telehealth system to provide services in various locations.
• Displays positive interaction and communication with community agencies and other public relations activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
• Must possess and maintain a valid TN driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• LMSW/Temporary LPC license or the ability to obtain one within a 6-month timeframe is preferred (new graduates will be considered).
• Must obtain Mandatory Prescreening Agent (MPA) designation upon hire or when the license is obtained; training is provided.
• Excellent verbal and written skills required.
• Knowledge of DSM-5 criteria and ability to determine preliminary mental health diagnosis.
