Crisis Assessment Specialist

About the role

As a Crisis Assessment Specialist, you will assess clients in collaboration with emergency department personnel, psychiatrists, clinicians, attending physicians, and managed care representatives. You will provide recommendations for disposition and may perform the following duties:

• Face-to-face evaluations
• Telehealth (video) triage evaluations
• Respond to and/or triage patient/family complaints
• Assist in management of all assessment records
• Perform statistical analysis

Requirements

• At least one year of crisis experience (two years preferred)
• Experience in direct behavioral health clinical care
• Competence with DSM diagnostic criteria and treatment planning
• Demonstrated clinical and ethical professionalism, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills
• Adequate and available transportation for response to various evaluation sites
• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, or a related behavioral health field
• Current license in the state of employment in one of the following disciplines:
  • Clinical Psychologist (PSY)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN CNS)
  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (RN NP)
  • Psych Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)
  • Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
• For positions at Utah facilities only: Current license in the state of employment in one of the following disciplines:
  • Certified Social Worker (CSW)
  • Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACHMC)
  • Associate level Mental Health Therapy License
  • Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (supervision must be available through hospital staff)
• For St. Anthony North Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, Penrose St. Francis, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas Moore only: Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
• Physical ability to perform medium work (exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly)

Founded in 1976, Holy Cross Hospital - Davis is a 220-bed hospital serving northern Utah. We offer a broad range of services, advanced medical technology, and a comfortable, convenient patient experience. To meet the needs of the growing population, we opened the Weber Campus—a 16,000-square-foot facility in Roy providing emergency care, radiology, mammography, and 24/7 laboratory services. Located near Hill Air Force Base, the area offers quick access to Ogden, Salt Lake City, Antelope Island State Park, and outdoor activities like hiking and biking.
