About the role

The incumbent in this class monitors subgrant programs for compliance with state and federal regulations, conducts program research and data collection and provides staff support to the subcommittees of the Delaware Criminal Justice Council.

Essential functions

  • Reviews and analyzes various programs administered in other states to determine feasibility of program duplication in the State of Delaware.
  • Conducts studies and surveys to gather data pertaining to areas being researched; analyzes information and reports findings and recommendations.
  • Makes sure programs funded through the Council comply with Federal/State grant requirements.
  • Drafts legislation required to implement new or revised existing programs.
  • Supports task forces and subcommittees.
  • Prepares grant applications to obtain funding for programs by drafting narrative descriptions of program/project objectives/goals.

Job Requirements

  • One year experience in program evaluation which includes evaluating programs and services to identify problems, determine compliance and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency to ensure program goals and overall objectives are met.
  • Six months experience in criminal justice research which includes systematic study to discover facts.
  • Six months experience in interacting with criminal justice organizations such as law enforcement, courts, corrections, parole boards, community groups, or local governments.
  • Six months experience in descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode or standard deviation.
  • Six months experience in recommending alternatives, improvements, courses of action and other changes based on findings.
  • Six months experience in developing policies or procedures.
  • Six months experience in writing reports in a structured format containing an introduction, presenting the thesis, purpose or proposal with supporting evidence, explanation, facts, and analysis or examples with a conclusion or recommendations.
  • Knowledge of grant management and control which includes monitoring and evaluating grant expenditures.

Salary and Benefits

Yearly: $52,894.00/Min - $66,118.00/Mid - $79,342.00/Max
Pay Grade: 15
Shift Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
