Criminal Justice Planner
About the role
The incumbent in this class monitors subgrant programs for compliance with State and Federal regulations and provides staff support to the subcommittees of the Delaware Criminal Justice Council.
Essential functions
- Affords assistance to the Council in identifying problems with Criminal Justice agencies and devising methods of resolution.
- Maintains oversight of agency subgrant programs for adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Develops and drafts operational policies and procedures for proposed programs.
- Trains and/or orientates user agency staff in the policies, procedures, and usage of programs.
- Supports committees and task forces engaged in the research and/or investigation of issues involving Criminal Justice agencies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Criminal Justice Planner
- Knowledge of criminal justice research, including systematic study to discover and establish facts.
- Understanding of interacting with criminal justice organizations such as law enforcement, courts, corrections, parole boards, community groups, or local governments.
- Skills in program evaluation, including assessing programs and services to identify problems, determine compliance, and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency to ensure program goals and overall objectives are met.
- Ability to recommend alternatives, improvements, courses of action, and other changes based on findings.
- Experience in developing policies or procedures.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Yearly: $43,900.00/Min - $54,875.00/Mid - $65,850.00/Max
Pay Grade: 12
Shift Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
