About the role

The Office of Criminal Conflict & Civil Regional Counsel, First Region, is seeking a full-time attorney in their Pensacola, FL office.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in various types of court hearings, including jury trials, non-jury trials, motion practice.
  • Cover cases on multiple dockets in both the criminal and civil areas of constitutionally required indigent defense.
  • Client interviews, witness interviews, preparing witnesses for trial, research and writing legal documents and filings.
  • Ongoing assessment of the merits of a case.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ legal experience, preferably in Criminal Defense and/or Civil dependency and termination of parental rights cases.
  • Must be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar.

Qualifications

  • Experience in representing clients in court hearings.
  • Ability to handle multiple dockets in both criminal and civil areas.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures and practices.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.

Pay

Salary range commensurate with the successful applicant's experience.
